5 X DIY IDEAS OVERSIZED DENIM JACKET

A trend seen a lot in the 90s, the oversized denim jacket has made its comeback. It shouldn’t be so hard to get your hands on that perfect piece, just try thrift stores, visit flea markets or sneak into your parents wardrobe.
Tip 1: Look for a jacket whereby the denim is soft and thin otherwise it will only make you look bigger because of its shape.
Tip 2: Find a jacket with the shoulder seams not on your shoulders but a few inches down to your arm.
So when you have found your jacket, you can leave it as it is or you can make it unique and personal.
Below are some DIY ideas that you can use.

1. Add some fringe to the back of your denim jacket. View here a tutorial how to do it.

2. Write a poem or a lyric on the back of your denim jacket. Be careful though, it doesn't look so nice when you make a mistake here. Maybe pre-write it with pencil first before you use a marker.

3. Distress it by making horizontal cuts in the denim. Then wash it and put it in the dryer to get the look. Click here for a video tutorial.

4. Spiked shoulder-pads. Click here for a tutorial.

5. Place your favorite band on the back of your jacket. You'll need a t-shirt from that particular band, scissors and safety pins. Cut a large square from the t-shirt (so cut off the arms and the neck line) and add it to the back of the jacket with the safety pins.
